Dave started in childhood, riding motorcycles for pleasure. From 1969 - 1972, Dave managed a Honda shop. From there he became involved in road racing as a privateer. Paul Stevenson rode for him for 6 years then the next 4 years saw Doug Polen in the rider's seat. During these years, Dave designed his own exhaust systems, did his own engine rebuilding & tuning as well as all research and design work that was required to field a competitive motorcycle. To finance his racing endeavors, he started to manufacture and market his systems.
