Seven-Time AMA Flat Track Champ Chris Carr runs D&D Exhausts on his Flat Track motorcycles.

This is Carr's 22nd year of professional racing and is the winningest active rider on the AMA Flat Track circuit. His race victories and seven overall titles are both second on the all-time list to Scotty Parker.
Springfield Mile - Strong on the Mile
Springfield was a pretty good race for the Quality Checked Certified Pre-Owned Ford’s race team. They had a good battle with (Jay) Springsteen and (J.R.) Schnabel in the heat race and was able to come out on top of that pretty well. Carr got great traction and led it off of turn four on the final lap of the heat race and got to the stripe first.
Decent start in the main event up there in the top four or five and I saw (Kenny) Coolbeth make a break early and I tried to go with him, I got into second about the second or third lap - he had put about a 10 bike length gap on us and I tried running him down on my own and nobody really passed me for a while, then eventually Brian Smith came by and I said, 'well I'll just sit behind him and see if he can run him down,' and he wasn't able to either. Kenny was a little bit better than us all the way through and stretched the thing out, and I fell back into a battle basically with Smith and (Jared) Mees for the rest of the race, never saw (Joe) Kopp after that except for maybe one time. Coming down the last lap, I pulled some basic maneuvers down the backstretch and was able to run the thing through three and four and finished second, about as good as I could do for that particular day.
Springsteen’s Final Run
Many in the crowd had come to witness the great Jay Springsteen’s last race and after a strong heat race showing Springsteen looked poised to have that fairy tale ending most hoped for. Reality however was another story as Springer’s Harley expired on the warm up lap.
Carr Still Had a Chance For the Win
During routine, post race inspection his Harley-Davidson Motor Company / Screamin Eagle XR-750 was found to be light, possibly by as much as six pounds. The bike has been impounded and will be returned to AMA headquarters for weight verification.
A week later, AMA Pro Racing's Doug Neubauer confirmed the findings that the Screamin Eagle XR-750 meets the weight limit. So Carr got second.
Springfield TT Update - Tough Day at the Office
Heavy rains forced the TT to run on Monday of the Memorial Day weekend, and although the track remained tacky and rough through the preliminary program, it dried out somewhat for the main event. Chris struggled to a third row start then stalled the KTM on the first lap, forcing him to charge from last. His final position was thirteenth.
