Mista. D&D called up and sent me on a mission to cover the latest Smoke Out East this past weekend in Salisbury NC. It’s put on by The Horse Backstreet Choppers Magazine and it is just a helluva good time for any red blooded American whacked out gear head.
June in North Carolina is hot, hot, hot. So the clothes came off and the Chopper babes were young, strong and proud. This became pretty much a clothing optional event with cameras and phones in use 24/7. I sent a number of pics to Mista D&D but he’ll probably keep em for himself.
They had chopper builders from all over the country. And the interesting thing is that the guys that built their own sleds had just as cool hardware as the pro builders. Sucker Punch Sally, Smiley’s Choppers, Bobbers & Hot Rods, Stevenson's Cycle, Sully's Old School Customs and many more builders were showing their fine custom two-wheel art.
You have got to see the bikes… Harley chops, Triumph chops, ’73 era Honda chops. And they were low. I saw a Norton that was lower than the front wheel. The biker looked like contortionists when he rode by. There were even some ass-kicking street rods to show off.
The good folks at the Smoke Out decided to help the boys keep their rides clean by offering a free topless bike wash. After it got started the ladies decided to wash themselves instead of the bikes. Even though the bikes came away dirty, none of the bikers seemed concerned.
The usual suspects were all there, including the Ice Cream Man From Hell. He’s 55, looks like 75 and racers around like he’s 25. Why is this guy famous? No idea but he did give us a show with a photo shoot of a young hard belly on his ice cream truck trike.
This event is "family friendly" for grown ups with topless bull riding, burn outs, tattooing, pin striping, slip and spinout contests, a Horse Maiden contest, and anvil toss. Everything you need for good times.
Remember about ten years back, the Playboy Playmate, that represented Titan Motorcycle and the contest where bikers could win a new Titan motorcycle? The Playmate rode and made guest appearances etc etc etc.
Well, ten years later and she is still looking fine… ain’t know bugs on her. Anyway, she is making a comeback. I’d give ya her name and program but she drifted by late on the first night and I had killed too many brain cells by then.
To sum it up, The Smoke Out is Old Skool and very Kool with honeys and horsepower everywhere you turn. It’s where the whacked out gear heads go. See Ya!
