Daytona Harley-Davidson Tests 1125R Pipe

Buell 1125R with Race Pipe

Daytona Harley-Davidson team owner Richie Morris is racing in the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series with the all-new Buell 1125R.

The 1125R boasts race-inspired agility and handling, while holding to the three principles of the Buell Trilogy of Technologychassis rigidity, low unsprung weight and mass centralization.

He had this to say about the new bike:

The new Buell is really impressive. We took it straight out of the crate, added a throttle stop to comply with the 118-horsepower limit of MOTO-ST's SuperSport Twins class, took the blinker off, put on Pirelli racing tires and hit the track. We nailed the race pace right off the bat and that pretty much says it all.

Dave Rash, the Pope of Pipe, spoke with team owner Richie Morris in Daytona and then sent him a few new D&D 1125R pipes for testing. Morris is looking to save weight and the D&D pipes will reduce 8 hard-earned pounds.

Testing is definitely one of the important keys to winning races.
