Yamaha has gone under the hood and given the new 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6 a complete workover. The R6 gets a new frame, swingarm, reworked 599cc engine, new slipper clutch, improved front brakes and more aerodynamic bodywork.

Yamaha claims the upgrades to the 2008 R6 is now the most advanced production 600 class motorcycle it has ever made... we believe them.
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Remove muffler heat shield
3. Disconnect exhaust servo cables from the muffler.
4. Remove factory muffler. Retain factory mount bolt as this will be used later.
5. Remove cables from servo (Servo is located in front of the rear shock. Cables can be accessed from the right side of the bike.). Leave servo attached and connected.
6. Remove cables from motorcycle.
7. Inspect new muffler. No warranty on cosmetics once muffler has been installed.
8. Install D&D muffler using supplied muffler clamp and the factory mount bolt and supplied flange nut.
9. Snug mount bolt.
10. Tighten muffler clamp to 150 in.lbs.
11. Tighten mount bolt to factory toque spec.
12. Clean muffler with glass cleaner to remove any oil or finger prints.
13. Reconnect battery, start and check for leaks.
